Accident at track claims woman.
The local motor sports community this week was contending with great sorrow following the accidental death of a well-liked motorcycle shop owner. Kathleen Schultz, who owned the Picket Fence motorcycle shop in Madras, was killed in an accident Sunday afternoon at the Madras Dragway. She was 37.

Witnesses reported that, shortly after the start of the race, Ms. Schultz lost control of her motorcycle, and crashed onto the track.
"This is a terrible loss" commented John Preuss, owner and operator of the dragway. Preuss and others who knew Ms. Schultz remember her as a very nice person. She had owned the Picket Fence motorcycle shop, where her husband Stanley is the mechanic, for a number of years.
The business has a loyal following of customers, and has been recognized as a leading motorcycle shop in the region. Ms. Schultz was also a regular motorcycle racer at the dragway, said John Preuss.
